Why Yoga?

I revel in the limitless potential of possibilities that the practice offers — not only on the mat, but majority of the time, off of it as well. Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga especially inspire me towards striving for betterment, which I will delve into through journal entries and classes. For me, yoga welcomes me towards a path of complete self awareness and acceptance. It grounds me in ways I never knew I needed. Practicing meditation and breath work allowed me the opportunity to gain better control of my thoughts through learning mindfulness. My practice completely releases and liberates my inner child, possessing this incredible ability to encourage a happier and kinder version of myself.

With all of this being said, I want to clarify that yoga is simply the bridge to connection; a tool for you to utilize, if you will. Yoga is not the solution to all life’s problems! However, it’s not at all difficult to start. Almost every single person comes into yoga with uncertainty and intimidation about the practice, and that’s completely normal. All you simply need to cross that bridge, all you need to use that tool, is an open mind, an open heart, and of course, yourself.
